How to Make a Leather Belt
A leather belt is one of the easiest and most popular leather craft projects, and it can also be an excellent way to learn how to use stamping tools or a swivel knife if you haven't already. To make this project easy, you'll need a few simple tools and supplies.
1. Marking the Leather
First, grab a ruler and a pen or pencil and make a mark 6'' away from the tip of the belt. Next, mark another two spots on either side of that, each about 1'' apart.
2. Using the revolving punch or drive punch, drill holes of at least 3/16'' diameter out of each mark you made.
3. Folding the Leather
Once you've punched all your holes, it's time to fold the leather in a way that matches the oblong slot on the belt buckle. This is a very simple process, and you can do it by hand or with a revolving punch. It doesn't take long, and it will give you a nice shape to the oblong slot on your buckle.
